Getting started

How do I get Famio?

Famio is an Android app, from Google Play. Install it, create your household, and invite the people you share a home with.

How do I invite family members?

Open the app, go to Settings, then Household code, and share the code with the person you want to invite. They enter it when they sign in, and an adult in your household approves the request. You can change the code at any time.

What can Famio actually do?

A shared calendar, shopping and to-do lists, meal planning with a recipe book, a pantry, chores with rewards, and a household budget — plus Famio AI, which can update any of them from a single message.

Household & profiles

Can kids have their own profiles?

Yes. When adding a member you can mark them as a kid profile. Kid profiles have a four-digit PIN and see only what concerns them — their chores, their events, and their reward balance. There is no money tab and no settings menu.

Do my kids need their own email address?

No. You create the kid profile and pair their device from your own phone, so a child never needs an email account to use Famio.

Can I control who sees what?

Yes. Permissions are set per section, so you can keep the budget adult-only while the calendar and chores are shared with everyone.

Famio AI

What can Famio AI change?

Calendar events, lists, meal plans, recipes, chores and their schedules, budget entries and bills, reminders, and your household setup. It can do several of these at once from one message.

Will it change anything without asking?

No. Famio AI drafts a plan, shows you every proposed change, and waits. You can approve everything, edit an item, or discard it. Anything you approve can be undone afterwards.

Can I talk to it, or send a photo?

Both. You can dictate a message, or photograph a school flyer or receipt instead of typing out what it says.

Subscriptions

How much does Famio cost?

Famio is $20/month or $200/year. One subscription covers every member of your household — there are no per-person fees, no ads, and no paid add-ons. See the pricing page for the full feature list.

How does the free trial work?

You start with a free trial before you are charged anything. Trial eligibility follows the household account, so it applies once per household rather than once per person. Cancel before the trial ends and you will not be billed.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Your subscription is managed in Google Play — open the Play Store, go to Payments and subscriptions, and cancel from there. Cancelling stops the renewal; your access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, within 14 days of your first subscription payment. See the refund policy for how to request one.

Data & offline

Is my data private?

Your household’s data is visible only to members of your household. That is not a setting anyone can flip by accident — someone outside your house has no route to it at all. We do not sell it or use it for advertising. See our Privacy Policy for where it is stored and who processes it.

Does Famio connect to my bank?

No, and that is deliberate. You record bills and transactions yourself. Famio never asks for a bank login and never sees your bank credentials.

Does Famio work offline?

Yes. Lists, chores, meal plans and recipes work without a connection — useful in a supermarket with no signal. Changes sync automatically as soon as you are back online.
